4.75x8.5 inches. Gouache and casein on handmade watercolor paper.
It's that time of the year again! The Amaryllis Belladonnas (aka pink ladies, naked ladies, surprise lillies, and other nicknames) are back in bloom. They are popping up all over the county, so that means we will be out painting them. It was pretty difficult to nail down a good light pattern on these due to the dappling light shifting on this group, but it was fun to try and capture it.
Another new product I got from Jerry's Artarama was this "wiropad" sketchbook full of handmade watercolor paper from Indigo Artpapers. It's not like anything I've ever painted on before, but it's pretty fun to work with such a textural paper. This amount of texture might not be for everyone, and I may not need so much texture all the time, but it's nice to have the option.
