2.5x3.5 inches. Gouache on watercolor paper mounted to board.
Our original plan was to hike a trail in the hills of Healdsburg but instead we came across an amazing superbloom of flowers that were planted years ago and are now carpeting a small bit of undeveloped land behind a suburban neighborhood. Pretty amazing surprise! Tons of tidy-tips, lupines and goldfields. I didn't even know lupines had such a nice smell! Pretty amazing that we happened upon a phenomenon that people would travel miles for to see. We plan on making lots of paintings from this discovery. Since this area is going to be developed soon, it may be the only year we see it.
