I created this piece for a special show in Paso Robles called, "California Impressionists: The Masters & The Greats They Inspire." This painting, titled, "A Bloom Like No Other," was my contribution.
I created it from a number of pictures I took this year at Carrizo Plain when I visited in March. The superbloom may have been even richer than the one a couple of years ago. I just loved the variety of colors even beyond the blanket of yellow flowers carpeting the landscape. I hope to come back to the site next year if we get another amazing bloom.
My passion for seeking beauty takes me to all sorts of unique places. I am in a constant search for new places to feed my soul and inspire me. The more uncommonly beautiful, the better. It is inextricably linked to what I want to express as an artist.
