Using oil paint, I will demonstrate how to use color, composition and value to depict depth and atmosphere in your paintings. We will work from photographs and create paintings that show dramatic vistas, moody atmospheres, and sunny backlit scenes. Learn how to control subtle color and tone shifts so that you can create paintings that will dazzle your admirers and collectors!
This course is recommended for artists who have some proficiency in oils, but artists of all levels who have an interest in learning my more advanced techniques are encouraged to participate in the course.
Paint Gouache Landscape Studies In Your Sketchbook is going to be super fun! We already have some sign-ups, so I bet that this one will fill up fast.
Learn how to use this exciting and increasingly popular watercolor medium in your sketchbook! I will show you what materials work best for this medium, how to set up your workspace, and an easy-to-follow method for painting bright and colorful studies in gouache. You can then use these sketches as studies for larger paintings, or frame/sell them as small works for your collectors! All skill levels welcome.
As you can see, space is limited to 30 students per class. Classes will be streamed live via the Zoom conferencing app. You will be able to attend on either your desktop computer or phone. The classes will be hosted through The Art Of The Carolinas, a convention that is normally held in-person, but because of you-know-what, had to be adapted to an online-only event. My classes will be held on November 10th, 11th, and 12, from 10am to 1pm PST.
