For some reason these candies have become synonymous with Christmas even though you can buy them anytime. Anyone know why that is? Is because the gold foil is present-like? Either way, the shape and shiny colors of these really lend themselves to be painted! They have lots of little planes that have to be simplified in order to look right.
 
This ornament is around 3" in diameter and painted in traditional gouache. It has been varnished with museum wax.
