Even though it was over 90 degrees inland, the wind at Doran Beach made it so that you needed at least a long-sleeve to be reasonably comfortable that day! I'm glad I brought a wind-breaker. It took a lot of leg-strength to walk back to my car in the crazy wind!
 
I'm experimenting with getting more contrast out gouache in this piece. The rocks weren't quite this dark, but I played with the values to get a more interesting pattern of contrast. I also used layering of thick paint to get the feel of rock texture here.
