Vanessa got these cute little tins at the local Asian grocery store. I really like painting these types of subjects! All the little highlights really make them feel real. I know they all taste the same, but I like the blue ones the best :)
 
The trick to painting ceramics is that you need to step down your white values down a bit more than you think, in order to make the highlights stand out. Fortunately, stepping down in value means that you get to add more saturated color into those whites so it gives you a great opportunity to play with the halftones and reflected lights.
