I have been working on a low/mid chroma palette that will help me capture the true tones of the Northern California spring and summer colors. For the most part, they are much more muted than you might think if you haven't painted en plein air enough yet. Even the greenest greens in the hills have plenty of grays and browns in it. There's sort of a dusty haze that unifies everything in a spring day in Sonoma County that I try to capture here.
