Sometimes people ask me why I prefer to paint with gouache these days. One of the reasons is that it's so easy to change directions in a painting. This piece was painted right over one that wasn't working. I had a lot of fun pushing the chromatic limits of my low-chroma palette. I think the results were a nicely unified color scheme that really appealed to everyone I showed it to.
