I went back to Shiloh Ranch Regional Park with Vanessa where we both took on this vista. I had a fun time with the composition of this piece, as well as building up the colors by layering the gouache. I find that the more I work with gouache, the more I learn to work with the supposed drawbacks and turn them into its strengths. Every medium has an optimal way of handling it, which is different for each artist, but it's so much fun to figure out for yourself.
